Biography
He was born on May 2 (15), 1905 in the Tagarkhai ulus, now the Tunkinsky district of Buryatia , in a peasant family. Drilled .
He graduated from grade 4. Before World War II, he lived in the city of Irkutsk , worked as the head of the container base.
Drafted into the Red Army in 1942. In the current part since March 1942. Member of the CPSU (b) since 1942.
A sniper of the 580th Infantry Regiment (188th Infantry Division, 27th Army, North-Western Front) Sergeant Zhambyl Tulaev from May to November 1942 exterminated two hundred and sixty-two Nazis [8] . He trained for the front of three dozen snipers [8] .
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of February 14, 1943 for exemplary performance of command missions at the front of the battle against the German invaders and the courage and heroism shown to the foreman Tulaev Zhambyl Yesheevich was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal (No. 847) [5] [8] .
Since 1946, Lieutenant J. E. Tulaev - in stock. He returned to his native Buryatia. He worked as chairman of the collective farm , secretary of the local village council. He died on January 17, 1961. He was buried in the village of Tagarkhay.

- The monument-bust to J. E. Tulaev was erected in the village of Kyren .
- A bust of the Hero is installed in the village of Khurai-Khobok [10] .
- In 2005, in the capital of Buryatia - the city of Ulan-Ude - a memorial plaque was erected on the building of school No. 12 in memory of Zh. E. Tulaev. Later, a bust of the Hero was installed on the school grounds.
- A street in Ulan-Ude is named in honor of Zh. E. Tulaev.
- Also named after him are the streets in Kyren, Khurai-Khobok, Tagarkhai.
