Smoke (taxation)

Smoke is a peasant's yard, the economy of one small or less often large (not divided) family, and also a taxation unit in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in the XIV-XVIII centuries. The smoke was a complex of farm buildings, a residential building, various farmland, livestock and agricultural implements. Courts of the bourgeoisie were also called smoke.
