In Tennessee , USA , the Butler Act is passed - a law prohibiting the teaching of evolution theory in public schools and state universities. On May 5, 1925, in the city of Dayton, John Scopes was found guilty and sentenced to a fine of $ 100 for teaching the theory of evolution.
