Biography
Born May 18, 1847 in the village. Zamankul. Ossetians . Religions Mohammedan . Educated at the school of military students Terek region , and then in the Caucasian training company .
Beginning of military career
Entered the service on July 1, 1861, in the Life Guards Caucasian squadron of his own E. I.V. convoy armor [1] . December 29, 1863 promoted to ensigns with transfer to the Kabardian infantry general-field marshal Prince Baryatinsky regiment . From December 4, 1864 to second lieutenant .
September 9, 1870 transferred to the Nizhny Novgorod Dragoon Regiment . March 19, 1871 promoted to lieutenant , and October 8, 1872 in the captains . October 7, 1876 promoted to captain and appointed commander of the 4th Squadron .
Russian-Turkish War
I met the war as commander of the 4th squadron. He especially distinguished himself in the battles of Begli Ahmet on the night of May 17-18 and the Aladzhi heights on October 2-3, 1877. On September 10, 1877, he was awarded the Golden Sword with the inscription “For Bravery” [2] . December 7 of the same year, "was awarded the rank of major ." June 12, 1878 was awarded the Order of St. George the Victorious 4th century. [3]
From the description of the feat:
On October 2, Major Kusov, with the 4th Squadron entrusted to him, took an active part in repelling the six Turkish camps that came to the aid of the Turkish troops that we attacked on the heights of Shatyr-Ogly. The next day, during the battle at the Aladzhi Heights, during the attack of the Vizinkevskiy fortifications, Major Kusov, taking the 4th squadron entrusted to him to the right and dropping into the flank of the trenches defended by the Turks, the first jumped into the fortification. At the same time, Major Kusov was wounded easily with a bayonet in his left hand [4]
Subsequent career
Since 1882, the division commander. December 6, 1882 promoted to lieutenant colonel . October 19, 1889 Lieutenant Colonel Kusov was appointed commander of the Dagestan Equestrian Regiment. May 6, 1890 promoted to colonel . February 28, 1896 he was appointed commander of the 1st Labinsk regiment of the Kuban Cossack army.
On November 3, 1900, he was promoted to major general and appointed commander of the 1st Brigade of the 1st Caucasian Cossack Division. On January 11, 1906, he was appointed commander, and on December 6, he was promoted to lieutenant general with the confirmation of the post of chief of the 1st Caucasian Cossack Division [5] .
In July 1908, he was dismissed from service, with a uniform and with a full salary. He died in 1918.
