Biography
Jonathan Sass was born in Harlem, New York, Manhattan . From 1976 to 1985, he studied tuba under the supervision of Sam Pilafian at Boston University . Since 1980, Sass has performed concerts around the world and in 1989 settled in Vienna . Until 1995, he was a member of the Vienna Art Orchestra Jazz Orchestra. For some time, Sass played in the American Brass Quintet Empire Brass and in the jazz rock band Heavy Tuba. Currently, he performs solo, as well as as part of the Brass Quintet Art of Brass Vienna.
