Manolov, Dimitar

Dimitr Manolov ( Bulgarian. Dimitar Manolov ; July 20, 1940 , Bulgaria - September 25, 1998 , Bogota ) - Bulgarian conductor and public figure, People's Artist of the People’s Republic of Bulgaria (1986).

Biography

He studied at the Moscow Conservatory - in conducting with Alexander Vasilievich Gauk and Gennady Nikolayevich Rozhdestvensky , in instrumentation and reading scores with the composer Edison Vasilievich Denisov .

He has held posts in the governing bodies of the Union of Musical Figures of the People’s Republic of Bulgaria. Since 1968, the conductor of the People's Opera in the Bulgarian city of Ruse. Since 1969, the chief conductor of the Philharmonic Orchestra of the city of Pleven , and from 1972-1980. artistic director and chief conductor of the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra. At the same time, he creates and directs a chamber ensemble of percussion instruments named Polyrhythmia.

In 1981, the musician is invited to the capital of Colombia, where from 1981 to 1983 he leads the Philharmonic Orchestra of the city of Bogota .

However, Dimitar Manolov subsequently returned to his homeland, Bulgaria, where he headed the Sofia Folk Opera, performing a number of premieres as a producer and conductor. Among them are such masterpieces of opera classics as Falstaff and Othello Giuseppe Verdi, as well as The Golden Cockerel by N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov.

In 1987, Manolov Dimitar returned to work in the symphony orchestra, performing the post of chief conductor of the Plovdiv Philharmonic Society. During these years, the musician conducts intensive concert activities. He is invited to conduct the best orchestras of the world, including the USSR - in Moscow and Leningrad (1985).

In recent years (since 1990), the musician has dedicated himself to work as Chief Conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia, in the capital of the country, Bogota, where he died in 1998 .
