Gennady Vasilevich Šítik ( Latvian. Geniddijs Šitiks ; June 18, 1958 , Riga - August 20, 2009 , Riga ) - Soviet and Latvian footballer , midfielder , later head coach of the Latvian youth national football team , master of sports of the USSR .

After the end of his football career, he founded the Vecriga football club, with which he won first place in 1995 in the second league of Latvia , and a year later he won the first league , but in the offseason the club went bankrupt.

December 7, 1999 founded the football school .

In December 2005, he became the head of the youth national team of Latvia , which he led until his death ^[1] .

He died on August 20, 2009, at the age of 52 ^[2] ^[3] .
