Biography

He started volleyball in 1978 in Yoshkar-Ola . The first coach is V. M. Sazonenko. In 1982, he moved to Leningrad , where he enrolled in the School for Children’s Children in the Vasileostrovsky District [8] .

From 1984 to 1993 he played for Avtomobilist (Leningrad / St. Petersburg ). It includes: two - time champion of Russia (1992, 1993) , silver (1990) and three-time bronze (1987-1989) winner of the USSR championships , winner of the USSR Cup (1989) , two-time winner of the European Cup (1988, 1989) .

Since 1993, he played for foreign clubs [9] : 1993-1995 - Alpitur-Diesel ( Cuneo , Italy ), 1995-1998 - ( Hiroshima , Japan ), 1998-1999 - Via Montenapoleone "( Kutrofiano , Italy ), 1999-2000 -" Kopra Junior Volley-90 "( Piacenza , Italy ), 2000-2001 -" SSK Ankara "( Ankara , Turkey ). Bronze (1996) and silver (1997) prize-winner of the championships of Japan.

In the national teams of the USSR, CIS and Russia in official competitions he performed in 1989-1996. In 1999, Oleg Shatunov graduated from the St. Petersburg State Academy of Physical Culture named after P.F. Lesgaft .

After the end of his playing career, he coached amateur teams in St. Petersburg. In 2005-2007, he worked as a coach of the Leningradka women's volleyball team, and in the 2010/11 season, he worked as a senior coach of the Leningradka-2 team (major league B of the Russian championship).

From the summer of 2015 to the present, he has been the head coach of the Dynamo - Leningrad Oblast volleyball club [8] .

In the 2016/17 season, he again plays for Leningradka [16] .

Son Philip (born 1996) played for the Dynamo Center team - the Dynamo Leningrad Region club youth team [8] , and currently plays for the Kuzbass club youth team from Kemerovo [17] .
