Kalapara ( Beng. কলাপাড়া , English Kalapara ) is a city in the south of Bangladesh , the administrative center of the sub-district of the same name . The area of the city is 19.49 km². According to the 2001 census, 16,330 people lived in the city, of which 55.18% were men and 44.82% women, respectively. The population density was 838 people. on 1 km². The literacy rate was 39.37% (compared with Bangladeshan average of 43.1%).
