Dnipro ( Ukrainian Dneprovsk ; until 1962 - Manure ) - the village of the Chernihiv region of the Chernihiv region of Ukraine , the center of the village Council. History
The village was founded in the first half of the XII century. The former name - Manure - obviously received from the fact that in ancient times, tributes to the Kiev princes were brought here. Soviet power was established in Dneprovsky in January 1918. 475 villagers fought on the fronts of World War II , of which 152 were awarded orders and medals, 331 were killed. Sniper G.M.Simanchuk awarded the orders of Lenin and the Red Banner . Monuments were erected on the territory of the village in honor of the Soviet soldiers-liberators and fellow villagers who "gave their lives in the struggle against the Nazi invaders." A memorial sign was installed at the crossing point of the 13th Army (commander - General N.P. Pukhov ) across the Dnieper in September 1943 [1] .
