Catherine Nyambura Ndereba ( born Wincatherine Nyambura Ndereba ; born July 21, 1972 ) is a Kenyan athlete who specialized in marathon.

Born in the town of Nyeri, one of seven children in the family. By ethnicity belongs to the people of Kikuyu . In 1995, she joined the Kenya Prison Service, where she began to train professionally. She began her professional sports career in 1995. Then there was a break associated with the birth of her daughter Jane. In 1999, she made her debut at the Boston Marathon . Four-time winner of the Boston Marathon . The winner of the CPC Loop Den Haag half marathon in 2001. Five-time winner of the Beach to Beacon 10K run. Two-time Olympic silver medalist in 2004 and 2008 . Former world record holder in the marathon . Twice recognized as the best athlete in Kenya in 2004 and 2005. World Champion 2007 in the marathon.

Currently, she lives in Nyeri with her husband Anthony Maine and her daughter.
