The smallest, but also the most influential intelligence agency, and it deals not only with South Korea. The structure includes sectors: South Korea, Japan, the international sector, the USA, Southeast Asia, general and operational (there are disagreements over the list of sectors). Russia is under the jurisdiction of the International Sector, which deals with those countries that are not within the competence of specialized sectors (Europe, Africa, Latin America, the Middle East and China).
Ministry of State Security (cor. "Kukka anjon povison")
The Ministry is the main and most numerous intelligence service of the DPRK. The state has about 50 thousand people [1] .
The ministry is responsible for internal and external intelligence, counterintelligence and political investigation, but it does not protect the government and the head of state.
KPA General Staff Intelligence Directorate (Cor. Chonchalguk)
Army intelligence. Departments:
- political
- intelligence department (five separate intelligence battalions obey)
- radio engineering department (electronic intelligence)

Communications Department
Unlike other intelligence agencies in the socialist countries, the pair “military intelligence - political intelligence” has been replaced by the triad “military intelligence - political intelligence - party intelligence”. It was this “communications department” that was party intelligence. Now it is officially called the "Social and Cultural Department."
The Social and Cultural Department includes:
