BAE Batterien GmbH (Former VEB Berliner Akkumulatoren- und Elementefabrik ) is a factory in Berlin that produces industrial batteries. Founded in 1899. It produces stationary batteries for energy facilities, telecommunications equipment, uninterruptible power supplies, as well as for photovoltaic systems. [1] [2]

History
- 1899 - The BAE plant was founded in 1899 under the name Akkumulatorenwerke Oberspree AG
- 1904 - Founding of the distributor of the company VARTA ( German Vertrieb, Aufladung, Reparatur Transportabler Akkumulatoren - distribution, charging and restoration of portable batteries)
- 1905 - Accumulatoren Fabrik Aktiengesellschaft (AFA) buys factory
- 1958 - After the formation of the GDR, the state company VEB Berliner Akkumulatoren- und Elementefabrik was established in 1958.
- 1990 - After the unification of Germany, VEB Berliner Akkumulatoren- und Elementefabrik became known as Berliner Batterie GmbH BAE
- 1992 - From 1990 to 1992, under a licensing agreement with VARTA Batterie AG, the batteries were manufactured under the name VARTA
- 2005 - in 2005 the name changed to BAE Batterien GmbH
