Demographics
According to the 2000 census [1] , 1997 people, 631 families lived in Bokilia , there were 907 households and 1,436 houses. The average population density was about 87.63 people per square kilometer. The racial makeup of the village was as follows: 98.05% White , 0.25% Black or African American , 0.05% Native American , 0.30% Asian , 0.50% mixed race, 0.85 % - of other nationalities. Hispanics accounted for 12.47% of all residents of a statistically isolated area.
Of the 907 households, 16.1% raised children under the age of 18, 60.5% were cohabiting couples, in 5.1% of the families women lived without husbands, 30.4% did not have families. 24.5% of the total number of families at the time of the census lived independently, while 12.0% were single elderly people aged 65 years and older. The average household size was 2.20 people and the average family size was 2.55 people.
According to the 2000 census, the population of the statistically isolated area according to the age census was as follows: 15.0% - residents under the age of 18, 6.7% - between 18 and 24 years old, 18.2% - from 25 to 44 years old, 31, 9% - from 45 to 64 years old and 28.2% - aged 65 years and older.
