Fort Shevchenko is a former airport of local airlines in the Mangistau region of Kazakhstan , near the city of the same name .

Class B airfield was designed to receive An-24 , Yak-40 and all lighter aircraft , as well as all types of helicopters . In the 1990s, the airfield was abandoned and has since been used as a landing pad for Class A aircraft ( An-2 and the like) and helicopters for aerial work .
