Description
Geography
The Pshevka River originates in the area of the village of Pyavochnoe . It flows west and flows into Zusha southeast of the city of Novosil near the village of Tyukovo . The mouth of the river is 134 km along the left bank of the Zushi river. The length of the river is 40 km, the catchment area is 448 km².
Etymology
The name of the river can come from the words psha - “ spring, water ” (cargo), pshahva - “ river valley ” (Abkhazia), [3] which confirms the hypothesis of historians about the settlement of Scythian-Sarmatian tribes directly in ancient times by this area. Slavic scientist Academician O. N. Trubachev identifies the name of the river and the settlement of Pshev with the name of the Czech city of Psov (Pshow), located on the river Pshowka (Pshovka) and existed on the territory of ancient development in Northern Bohemia, [4] which also reinforces the theory of settlement Upper Pochye by the Western Slavs.
