Amputa

Amputa is a river in Russia , it flows in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug . It flows out of the lake, the mouth of the river is at 285 km of the Agan River. The length of the river is 181 km, the catchment area is 4220 km² [2] .

Title

Nenets pronounce the name as Vampu-ta (Nenets words do not begin with a vowel) [3] . Khanty called the river Kavahyn [4] .

Description

As in many other rivers of the region, on the river as a result of the fall of trees into it, creases form, which sometimes persist for decades. Thus, the same hall was observed in 1923 and in 1953 [5] .

The upper reaches of the river are the zone of settlement of the forest Nenets (Iusi - the Beaver (Mahi) genus) and the zone of ethnocultural contact between the Khanty and the Nenets [3] .

In the old days, along the river in winter, there was the “Big Tsarskaya Road”, along which teams were going to purchase goods at a fair in Surgut [4] .
