Description
It is located in the forests in the south of the region, on the right bank of the Karitsa River, 26 km southeast of the village of Nikolskoye (the center of the rural settlement), 74 km south of Totma , 167 km east of Vologda .
The nearest villages Velikiy Dvor , Luchkino , Sinyakovo are located 8 km north-west of the village.
In the village are located the station Karitsa and the platform "Village Karitsa" of the Monza Railway . The village is located 135 km from the starting point - station Vokhtoga-2 [2] . Neighboring stations are Gremyachiy and Ida . Until 2014, there was a direct passenger service along the Vokhtoga - Ida route.
There is an access road to the village from the north - from the village of Assumption .

In 2002, the population was 475 people. The predominant nationality is Russian (98%) [3] .
History
The village appeared in the 1960s during the construction of the Monza Railway .
By the decision of the Vologda Oblast Executive Committee of October 28, 1965, the Karitsky Village Council was formed in the village of Karitsa of the Totemsky District, which was subordinated to the Babushkinsky District Executive Committee. In 1979, the village council was renamed Idsky, and its center was transferred to the village of Ida [4] . When creating municipalities on January 1, 2006, the village became part of the Tolshemensky rural settlement of the Totemsky district [5] , although according to the registry of administrative divisions it is still included in the Babushkinsky district.
