The phenomenon of electronic voice or "Electronic Voice Phenomenon" (EGF) ( born Electronic Voice Phenomenon ) - the appearance on the audio recordings of noise resembling a human voice . Paranormal explanations of this phenomenon (such as communication with deceased people) have gained some distribution. Such an interpretation of the phenomenon is not a scientific fact and is not recognized by academic science. [1] [2] The scientific explanation is that when the brain perceives information, there is a tendency to search for patterns in random stimuli ( apophenia , pareidolia ). In addition, it is possible that some electronic voice recordings were made for the purpose of fraud or joke . [3]

History
For the first time, the assumption of the existence of this phenomenon was proposed and investigated by Swedish film producer Friedrich Jurgenson . In 1959, Jurgenson recorded birds' voices on tape. During the recording, nothing unusual happened, but when Jurgenson listened to the recordings, in addition to the voices of the birds, he found on the tape a recording of an extraneous male voice in Norwegian. Jurgenson was sure that during the recording there were no people nearby, and therefore decided that the tape recorder accidentally recorded the broadcast of one of the Norwegian radio stations. Since the Swedish and Norwegian languages are very close, Jurgenson immediately realized that the voice on the recording leads the story of the sounds made by birds. Having made inquiries, he found out that on the day when he made the record, not one of the Norwegian radio stations broadcasted programs of such content on the air. Then Jurgenson began to conduct experiments to study this phenomenon. Soon, he even managed to allegedly establish contact with his deceased mother. [2] He later described this phenomenon in detail. Jurgenson's follower was the Latvian psychologist Konstantin Raudiv .
Previously, Thomas Edison also did similar research. Edison expressed the opinion that the personality traits of a person, such as, for example, character and intellect do not disappear after the death of his physical body, but only transfer to a different plane of being. Edison worked on the creation of an electronic device that would receive information transmitted by the souls of the dead. There was a version that Edison assembled a device resembling a dictaphone, with which he was going to contact the dead. [3]
