Carlingford-Lough ( eng. Carlingford Lough , Ir. Loch Cairlinn , where Cairlinn , according to various sources - short for Cathair Linn or Snám Aignech [1] ) - one of the three [2] glacial fjords of the island of Ireland , which is a natural border between counties Down and Louth , and therefore the border between Ireland and Northern Ireland ( Great Britain ). The bay is protected by the Ramsar Convention on the second criterion of the convention; on its islands there are important habitats of Krachkov [3] .
