Biography

The grandson of the historian Mirkhond , after whose death in 1498, he processed and completed the seventh volume of his general history, “Rausat us-saf” (“The Garden of Purity”) and its geographical addition, using, like his grandfather, the patronage of the Minister of Timurid Sultan Hussein-i- Baikar and the enlightened patron of the era of Alisher Navoi and his vast collection of manuscripts of historical writings.

He wrote his universal history “Habib-us-Siyar”, for three years (1521–1524), devoting it to his patron, the governor of Herat, Khoja Habibullah, after whom history is named. At the invitation of Sultan Babur , one of the Timurids, Khondemir arrived in Agra at his court in 1527/28 , at the suggestion of his successor Humayun, compiled the rules and legalizations of Humayun and a description of the buildings erected by him under the name “Humayun-name” (1533/34) .

The book "Habib al-Siyar" (Friend of biographies) was repeatedly published in Iran , the last 4-volume edition was published in Tehran in 1954.
