Viktorenko Street starts at Leningradsky Avenue , on Academician Kutafin Square , goes south and ends at a crossroads with the airport . In the area of Academician Kutafin Square, Ostryakov Street adjoins Viktorenko Street .

History

The street was formed in 1956 and was originally called the 1st Airport Drive [1] at the nearby Frunze Central Airfield .

According to the plans of the 1950s-1960s, the route of the future Moscow Fourth Ring Road was to pass along the street [2] . With this in mind, an architectural ensemble of a street near Leningradsky Prospect was designed. However, later the idea to build a fourth ring here was abandoned.

In 1965, the street received the name of Viktorenko Street in honor of the Hero of the Soviet Union Vladimir Iosifovich Viktorenko (1919-1945), who died in battle while crossing the Oder River [1] .
