The length of the river is 12 km (together with Valchenka and Sominka - 85 km), the catchment area is 831 km².

It takes the source from Lake Vozhansky in the Boksitogorsky district of the Leningrad region . It flows south in an unpopulated area. In the lower reaches, it flows along the border of the Boksitogorsky district of the Leningrad region and the Chagodoschensky district of the Vologda region . It flows into Chagoda 157 km from its mouth.

The river was part of the Tikhvin water system .

According to the state water register of Russia, it belongs to the Upper Volga Basin District , the water sector of the river is Mologa from source to mouth, the river sub-basin is the River of the Rybinsk Reservoir Basin. The river basin - (Upper) Volga to the Kuibyshev reservoir (without the Oka basin) [2] .
