The source of the river in the forest, 7 km north-east of the district center, the village of Elniki . The river flows southwest, in the lower reaches it flows through the village of Elniki. It flows into Varma in swampy peatlands south of the village. Malaya Varma is a seasonal river and dries up at low water .
