Disney Toon Studios (originally Disney Movietoon ) is a division of Walt Disney Company specializing in traditional animation and primarily creating sequels to existing classic Disney cartoons.

Disney Toon Studios Australia (formerly Walt Disney Television Animation Australia) is DisneyToon's Australian division and Disney's latest in-house traditional animation division.
History
On July 25, 2005, the Walt Disney Company announced that in October 2006, the Australian DisneyToon division would be closed after 17 years of existence. The decision to close is associated with rising cartoon production costs in Australia . In the future, DisneyToon plans to create cartoons on the production base of third-party companies.
On February 23, 2006 , after a change of leadership and takeover of Pixar , the company decides to curtail part of DisneyToon projects, including Cats Aristocrats II, Pinocchio II, and Dumbo II.
