Lower Pechenga takes its source on the Verkhnevazhskaya Upland in a forest area 27 km south-east of the regional center - the village of Vozhega . Not far from its source is the source of the Vozhega , there is a watershed between the basins of the Northern Dvina and Onega . The river flows north through an uninhabited forest, the largest tributary is the Zadvornitsa (right). It flows into Kubena 5 kilometers above the village of Juczka . At the confluence of the Lower Pechenga into Kubena stands the village of Khvostovo (the rural settlement of Yuchkinskoye ).
