River Name

The etymological origin of the hydronym has not been established, however, the Shors refer it to the Shor language , in which the word kan means "blood" or "bloody", in the local dialect the word kanda is "in blood". The meaning of lep remains unclear, but since it is found in the names of some rivers, it is assumed that it refers to a geographical term of unknown origin with the meaning “river”. If these assumptions are true, then Kandalep is a bloody river or a river in blood [3] .
