Belovo district is an administrative-territorial unit ( district ) and a municipality ( municipal district ) in the Kursk region of Russia . The administrative center is Belaya settlement.

Geography
The area is located in the southwestern part of the Kursk region . The length of the region from north to south is 40 km, from west to east - 38 km. The territory of the district is 950 km² (20th place among the districts) (3.2% of the Kursk region ). The district borders on the Sudzhansky , Bolshesoldatsky , Oboyansk districts of the Kursk region , as well as the Belgorod region and Sumy region of Ukraine .
The main rivers are Psel , Ilyok .
History
The first mention of the development of the territory of the Belovsky district dates back to the 17th century. Exploring and describing the Sudan district, the stolnik Gerasim Rogozin in 1664 mentioned the first settlements in the district.
On the territory of the Kursk Territory there were many Cossack settlements, including Sloboda Belaya, residents who guarded the frontiers of the Russian land, carrying out military guard service, and did not pay any taxes and taxes.
The district was formed in 1928 as part of the Belgorod District of the Central Black Earth Region . In 1934 it became part of the newly formed Kursk region . In 1963, the area was abolished, restored in 1965.

Belovsky district as a municipal entity by the law of the Kursk region dated October 21, 2004 No. 48-ЗКО [15] (during the municipal reform of 2006 ) is endowed with the status of a municipal district , which included 18 municipalities endowed with the status of a rural settlement .
By the law of the Kursk region dated April 26, 2010 No. 26-ZKO [16], the following municipalities were transformed by means of a union that did not entail changes in the boundaries of other municipal entities:
- Belovsky Village Council and the October Village Council in the Belovsky Village Council;
- Giryansky Village Council and Kamyshansky Village Council to the Giryansky Village Council;
- Ilkovsky village council and Mokrushansky village council to Ilkovsky village council;
- Kondratovsky village council and Ozyorkovsky village council in Kondratovsky village council.

Economics
Agricultural area. Industrial production is poorly developed, mainly the processing of agricultural products (a sugar factory in the village of Kommunar, an oil mill in the village of Loshakovka).

Cereals - wheat , barley , corn . Technical - sugar beets , canola , sunflower . Fruit - mostly apples .
Livestock
It is represented by dairy (cows) and meat (cows, pigs).
Transport
The Gotnya - Lgov-Kievsky railway passes through the district, the main station is Psel .
Rail transport is represented by buses - intercity (Belaya - Kursk , Belaya - Belgorod , Gotnya - Sudzha ) and local lines (Belaya - Giri, Belaya - Kucherovka , Belaya - Bobrava, etc.).

On the banks of the river Psel in the area of. Gochevo is the so-called " Gochevskoe settlement ". Huge mounds on the site of the ancient Slavic city of Rome .
