Biography
Miminoshvili was born in the city of Samtredia, Georgian SSR. In 1966 he graduated from the Naesakov secondary school in the Abash region of Georgia. He served in the Soviet Army in the Moldavian SSR .
In 1972 he entered the Donetsk State Medical Institute, which he graduated with honors in 1978. He worked in the Donetsk Regional Clinical Hospital. Kalinina as a resident, later head of the surgical department, and since 1986 as an assistant in the department of general surgery of the Donetsk State Medical Institute, and then as an assistant professor of the same department. In 1985 he defended his thesis, and in 1995 his doctoral thesis. In 1987 he was appointed chief proctologist of the Donetsk region .
In 1996, he was elected professor of the Department of Hospital Surgery of the Donetsk State Medical Institute, and in 2003 became the head of the Department of Hospital Surgery of DonSMU.
Scientific and practical work
Miminoshvili O. I. for the first time in Ukraine developed and introduced into clinical practice electrophysiological methods for studying the functional state of the gastrointestinal tract . And also for the first time performed an operation - a thoracoscopic pericardectomy. For the first time in world practice, he performed an operation on thoracoscopic ligation of the left atrial ear. Miminoshvili O. I. published more than 350 printed works, 4 monographs, received more than 35 patents of the Russian Federation and Ukraine for new methods of diagnosing diseases and surgical intervention.
