The Boretsky rural village [5] [6] or the municipal entity “Boretsky” [5] [6] is a municipality with the status of a rural settlement in the Vinogradovsky municipal district of the Arkhangelsk region .

Geography

The Boretsky rural settlement is located in the south of the Vinogradovsky municipal district, on the right bank of the Northern Dvina . In the south it borders with the Afanasyevsky rural settlement of the Verkhnetoyemsky district , in the north - with the Rochegodsky rural settlement , in the west - with the Zaostrovsky rural settlement . The largest rivers of the settlement are: Selmenga , Tёda , Ukhvaz , Ryokhta , Staraya Ryokhta , Shosheltsa , Oborza , Nizhnaya Toima .

History

The municipality was formed in 2006 [9] [5] [6] , instead of the planned two settlements: the Boretsky rural settlement with a center in the Gridinsky and Selmengsky rural settlements with a center in Selmenga [10] .

In January 1919, on the territory of the Boretskaya , Kurgominsky and Topetskaya volosts, which had just been relieved of intervention, a local people's court of the 3rd section of the Shenkur district was formed. The court was in the village of Mikhailovskoye, Boretsky volost. In 1926, the territory of the current Boretsky settlement belonged to the Kurgominsky volost of the Shenkur district . In 1989, the village of Shosheltsy of the Nizhnetoyemsky village council of the Verkhnetoyemsky region, which became part of the Selmengsky village council, was included in the Vinogradovsky district. In 1992, the Selmengsky rural council was renamed the Selmengsky rural administration.

As of January 1, 2013, there were 1,341 people in the settlement. The population as of 01.01.2011 was 1436 people [18] . According to the 2010 All-Russian Census, 1,448 people lived in the Boretsky settlement [19] . In 2005, there were 1980 people in the settlement [20] .
