Avlog

Avloga follows from the system of lakes - the southern Syuyevarvi (Glubokoe) and the northern - Madalajarvi (Melkoye), located near the village of Hittolovo, Vsevolozhsk district, Leningrad region . It flows first to the north, then, beyond the village of Anyalovo , located on the left bank, turns to the north-east, and then to the east. On the left bank is the village of Matoksa . Before and after Matoksa, the river flows in a ravine. Behind the ravine on the right bank is the abolished village of Volojärvi , behind which Avloga sharply turns north, parallel to the shore of Lake Ladoga. Further on the right bank of the river is the abolished village of Nyasino , behind which Avloga takes the large left tributary of the Vatioka and again goes into the ravine. Then, in the now abolished village of Upper Nikulyasy , a large left tributary of the Sokilov flows into Avlogu. The river exits the ravine four kilometers before it flows into Lake Ladoga north of Cape Maksimov. At the mouth of the river was the now abolished village of Nizhny Nikulyasy . The entire course of the river is in the Vsevolozhsk district.

Like the entire Karelian Isthmus , the territories through which Avloga flows, until the 18th century, constantly passed from hand to hand between Russia and Sweden . It is known that in 1702 (before the final establishment of Russian power), a Russian detachment led by Count P.A. Apraksin , rising on ships from Lake Ladoga along the Avloge River, attacked a Swedish manor that existed in the village of Matoksa and captured its owner .

The Vloga River, like the Morya, has black water in it and does not give deliberate vessels in its shallowness at the very mouth of the haven. A great number of firewood is fused to it by its mouth, which, for shipment to St. Petersburg, is laid there on rafts. (1792 year) ^[3] .
