Career
May 1, 1933 joins the NSDAP (No. 1162622), December 10, 1933 - in the SS (No. 45654), which made it possible to enter the Stettin courier’s hour, which soon became part of the Schulz police. He moved to the motorized units of the gendarmerie, where on April 20, 1936 he was promoted to lieutenant.
On September 14, 1939, he was appointed platoon commander of the 9th company of the SS Deutschland regiment. From July 1, 1940, during the French campaign, he commanded a motorcycle platoon of communications of the SS division "Reich" , from February 14, 1941 - a platoon of the 3rd company of the 5th reconnaissance battalion of the SS division of the SS "Viking" , from July 20, 1941 - the 15th company 10 SS Regiment Westland.
On December 1, 1941, he was seriously wounded and on April 16, 1942 he was transferred to the Balkans as regimental adjutant of the 14th SS mountain jaeger regiment of the 7th Volunteer SS mountain division “Prince Eugen” , from August 1, 1942 - the 1st ordinance officer of the headquarters. On May 14, 1944 he was appointed commander of the 7th SS Reconnaissance Battalion. He takes part in anti-partisan operations in Croatia and Serbia. November 3, 1944 is awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross, and December 18, 1944 - the German Cross in gold. By 1945, took command of the 13th SS Mountain Jaeger Regiment of the 7th SS Volunteer Mountain Division “Prince Eugen”.
