History

Yannick Dalma driving a Lola LC87.

To participate in the World Cup, the team announced only one chassis. Designed by Ralph Bellamy and built by Lola Cars, it was an improved Formula 3000 car with an increased wheelbase and a larger fuel tank. It was equipped with the usual atmospheric Ford Cosworth DFZ V8 engine.

The debut took place at the second stage of the season - the San Marino Grand Prix . Despite not the most outstanding characteristics, the car allowed the only pilot of the team Philippe Alo to finish in tenth place. In the next race, he became the eighth. By this time, Bellamy reduced the weight of the chassis by 15 kilograms by reducing the engine compartment. Later, a 4 kg monocoque was also lightened. Allo was able to win three sixth places for the team: in Hockenheim , Jerez and Mexico City .

There, in Mexico, Larrousse exhibited a second car, which was driven by another Frenchman, Yannick Dalma , who even finished fifth in the last race of the season in Adelaide . However, this did not bring points to Yannick and the team.
