Shay'm

Tamara was born in Trapp, a western suburb of Paris , in the family of a native of Martinique and French . From an early age she was fond of dancing and singing.

In 2005, the girl took part in the recording of the track rapper K-Maro Histoire de Luv from his album Million Dollar Boy . The song was recorded in Montreal .

A year after that, Tamara takes on her stage name Shay'm and releases her first solo album Mes Fantaisies ( My Fantasy ). The singer deciphers an unusual pseudonym like this: Shy is English shy , and 'm is the first letter from the word Martinique , her father’s native island ^[2] . The album comes out in October 2006 . Producer and composer becomes Ka-Maro ( K-Maro ). The album takes 6th place in the Main French chart and is in the top for 87 weeks ^[3] . The single from this album Victoire ( Victory ) reaches 4 places ^[4] , and the single Femme de couleur ( Colored woman ) - 5 places ^[5] .

In September 2008, the second Reflets album was released . He rises in the chart to 4 places ^[6] .

The third album, entitled Prendre l'air ( Stroll ), is released in June 2010 and remains on the French charts until January 2015 (for 134 weeks). During this time, about 240 thousand licensed albums were sold in France (including online sales) ^[7]

In June 2012, the singer released two albums at once. Firstly, this is the new Caméléon album ( Chameleon ), which has risen to first place on the national chart and sold in France in the amount of 260 thousand copies ^[8] . Secondly, this is the three-disc collection L'intégrale ( Complete Collection ), which is a reissue of the first three albums. Despite the fact that in this collection there are no new songs and arrangements, it nevertheless rises to 65 places in the charts ^[9] .

In November 2014, Shay'm released the fifth album. It is entitled Solitaire ( Lonely ). After the resounding success of Prendre l'air and Camélléon , he was rather coolly received by both the public and critics ^{[10] [11]} , but nevertheless rose to 8th place on the chart ^[12] .

On October 9, 2015, to the 10th anniversary of the singer’s creative activity, a double collection album was released, entitled À nos dix ans ( To our decade ), which collected the best hits of past years ^[13] .

On September 1, 2017, fans were presented with a seventh album, entitled Héros ( Heroes ), some of which were written by Shay'm herself. In her interview with French journalists on the released album, the singer said that this is a “nudity album” and that it is “far more tolerant than it seems” ^[14] . According to the results of the first week of sales, the album takes the sixth line of charts in France ^[15] and the ninth in Belgium ^[16] .

Shay'm's style is a mixture of R&B and pop. Her first album, Mes Fantaisies, was strongly influenced by soul. In the second - Reflets already present elements of dance music. Prendre l'air's third album has more electronic music. Solitaire’s latest album already features more rock ^[17] .

For two seasons, Shay'm was a member of the jury of the television show Danse avec les stars (an analogue of Russian dancing with the stars ) ^{[18] [19]}

Shay'm is also one of the most read, on social networks, French stars (more than 2 million followers on Twitter) ^[2] .
