Geography
Located in the eastern part of the country. In the west it borders with Hadramaut governorate, in the east - with Oman . In the south it is washed by the waters of the Arabian Sea . The geography of Al Mahra is similar to the geography of the neighboring province of Oman - Dofar . In the north, the Mahrat Mountains rise to a height of 1300 m and the Rub al-Khali desert stretches, the coast is subject to seasonal monsoons, during which the atmosphere becomes moist and foggy, and sparse vegetation turns into lush valleys and forests.
Population
According to data for 2013, the population is 127,308 people [1] . In addition to the Arab population, the province also speaks the South Arabian Mehri .
