Geography
Location
41 km south-west of Zhlobin , 11 km from the Svetlogorsk-on-Berezin railway station (on the Zhlobin - Kalinkovichi line ), 115 km from Gomel .
Hydrography

History
The settlements of the Stone Age, Late Mesolithic, Neolithic and Bronze Age (0.7-0.8 km east and north-west of the village) discovered by archaeologists indicate the settlement of these places since ancient times. According to written sources, it has been known since the 19th century as a village in the Rechitsa district of the Minsk province . In 1931, the collective farm named after M. Gorky was organized. During the Great Patriotic War, the occupiers burned 13 yards and killed 23 residents. In the battles near the village in June 1944, 300 Soviet soldiers died (buried in a mass grave in a cemetery). 91 residents died at the front. For a short time in January 1944, a field hospital of Soviet troops was located in the village. In 1966, the neighboring village of Zabrodye was attached to the village.
