Racing career
Mouton is the only female winner of the WRC stages [1] (first victory - Rally San Remo 1981).
She made her debut at the stages of the World Rally Championship on November 30, 1974 at the Corsica rally behind the wheel of the Renault-Alpine A110, finished the rally career there in 1986 on the Peugeot 205 Turbo 16.
In 1975, she participated in the Le Mans 24 hour race in the women's team with Christine Dacremont and Marianne Höpfner on the Moynet LM75. The team took a total 21st place and 1st among cars with an engine capacity of 1.6-2.0 liters.
After Alpine A110 went to Lancia Stratos , in 1978 became the pilot of Fiat 131 Abarth, where she won the Tour de France Automobile competition. In 1981, she was noticed at Audi, in the same year she won her first race in San Remo. In the 1982 season, she scored three victories (Portugal, Brazil, Acropolis) behind the wheel of an Audi Quattro and became the vice-champion of the world. At the same time, she lost only 12 points to Walter Röhrl, having gone down 5 times during the season (Röhrl - three times). However, Mouton and Hannah Mikkola's points allowed the Audi team to win the mark for the first time. Autosport magazine awarded her the International Rally Racer of the Year award.
In 1984 and 1985, she won the race on Mount Pikes Peak (along with the Indy 500, America’s oldest automotive competition), setting a race record at that time. Mouton finished rally performances after the 1986 season, the latter for the now legendary group B.
In 1988, she played a key role in organizing the race of champions in memory of Henri Toivonen , whose death largely influenced the ban on group B.
In 2000, driving a Porsche 911 was the second on the London Rally - Sydney .
In 2010, she became the first president of the FIA Women's Motor Sports Committee [2] . In November 2010, during a demonstration race at the Race of Champions, the curb attacked too sharply and allowed the car to be turned over, the incident went without injury [3] [4] .
