In the south, east and north it borders on the forest.
In connection with radiation pollution after the Chernobyl disaster, residents were relocated to clean places.

Location
51 km south-west of the regional center and the railway station Yelsk (on the Kalinkovichi - Ovruch line ), 230 km from Gomel .
Hydrography
In the West, the Valavsky Canal, connecting with the Batyl River (a tributary of the Slovechna River).
Transportation Network
Transport links along the country road, then the Skorodnoye - Yelsk highway . The layout consists of a short straight street, oriented from the southwest to the northeast. Apartment buildings are wooden, manor type.
History
According to written sources, it has been known since the 19th century as a village in the Skorodnyansky volost of the Mozyr district of the Minsk province . In 1931, residents entered the collective farm. During the Great Patriotic War in July 1943, the invaders burned the village and killed 2 residents. 5 residents died at the front. In 1959, as part of the Valavsky state farm (center - the village of Valavsk ).
On November 29, 2005 it was excluded from the data on the accounting of administrative-territorial and territorial units [1] .
