Abram Grigorievich Raskin (born January 22, 1924 ) is a Russian art critic and art historian, scientist and publicist, a connoisseur of the history of St. Petersburg, the author of scripts for ballets and collections of lyric poems, many books and albums. Honored Artist of the Russian Federation ( 1999 ) [1] .

Biography
He graduated from Leningrad State University in 1950 . From this year he worked as a senior researcher at the Directorate of the Palaces and Museums of Petrodvorets . His main task was to prepare materials and historical references to provide design tasks for the reconstruction of fountains, palaces and decorative sculptures. He had friendly relations with architects who recreated Peterhof: V. M. Savkov , E. V. Kazan , A. E. Hessen , A. A. Kedrinsky , sculptors: I. V. Krestovsky, N. V. Dydykin, L. M Shvetskaya, E. P. Maslennikov and others. Since then, the art of Peter the Great and the second quarter of the 18th century has firmly entered the circle of interests of Abram Raskin.
A. G. Raskin is the author of more than 600 published works on the history of art and architecture of St. Petersburg and its suburbs. Among the most notable is his book "Chaliapin and Russian Artists." Over the past two decades, a significant number of articles have been written by A. G. Raskin about contemporary artists and sculptors in St. Petersburg. He also wrote, compiled and published 12 of his own poetry collections. In 1999 , A. G. Raskin was awarded the honorary state title “ Honored Artist of the Russian Federation ”.
