Marsaget ( cf. os. Balsag / Barsag / Marsag ) is a representative of the ruling dynasty of the Scythians , known to us exclusively from the message of Ctesias of Cnidus ( ΠΕΡΣΙΚΑ , § 16) [1] .
According to this report, during the reconnaissance expedition of satrap Ariaramna , who preceded the march of Darius I, the ruler of the Achaemenid Empire to Scythia , the brother of the Scythian king (probably Idanfirs ) Marsaghet was captured by the Persians for some offense ... ".
