Biography

Born June 20, 1920 in the city of Aleksandrovsk-Grushevsky, now the city of Shakhty, Rostov Region, in a working class family. Russian .

He graduated from the pedagogical college, worked as a deputy principal.

In the Red Army since 1939 . In 1941 he graduated from the Stalingrad military-political school. On the front since June 1941 [2] . He was injured several times.

Guards Senior Lieutenant A. P. Mysin particularly distinguished himself when crossing the Dnieper River north of Kiev , in battles when the bridgehead was captured and held near the villages of Glebovka and Yasnogorodka ( Vyshgorodsky district, Kiev region ) on the right bank of the Dnieper in the autumn of 1943. On the night of September 24-25, 1943, a company under his command was the first in the regiment to force the Dnieper River, clear the coast from the enemy, thereby creating a springboard for further forcing the Dnieper River regiment.

28.9.43, the company commanded by comrade. Mysina repulsed 3 violent attacks of superior enemy forces. The 2nd attack, when the enemy came close to the battle formations of the company and began to throw grenades, the company was in a difficult position. At this time, the company commander stepped forward and with the words “Guardsmen do not retreat, death to the German invaders!” Dozens of grenades flew at the enemy. The enemy could not stand it and ran, 40 enemy corpses remained on the battlefield.

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of October 17, 1943 for successfully crossing the Dnieper River north of Kiev, firmly fixing the bridgehead on the west bank of the Dnieper River and showing the courage and heroism of the guard to Senior Lieutenant Alexander Pavlovich Mysin awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union awarding the Order of Lenin and Medal "Golden Star" [4] .

Since 1946, the guard lieutenant colonel A. P. Mysin was in reserve. He lived in the city of Riga , the Latvian SSR , where, before leaving for a well-deserved rest, he worked as the director of the Daugava Hotel.

He died on August 25, 1989. He was buried at the Garrison Cemetery in Riga.
