Biography

Anita Stewart was born on February 7, 1895 in Brooklyn , USA . In 1911, the Vitagraph film studio offered the actress a contract, and in the same year she made her film debut in the short drama The Tale of Two Cities. In 1917, the actress married actor Rudolph Cameron and through this marriage became the daughter-in-law of director Ralph Ince , through whose protection she began to receive more prominent roles in the film studio. In the late 1910s and early 1920s, Anita was one of the most popular actresses of silent films and often starred in romantic melodramas with her husband.

In 1918, Anita left the Viragraph film studio and signed a contract with future film mogul Louis B. Mayer . Under the terms of this contract, Anita founded her own company, which produced the paintings under the leadership of the Mayer film studio in Los Angeles . Between 1918 and 1919, Anita released seven relatively successful films, each of which played a major role. Throughout the 1920s, the actress continued to be filmed - in total, 100 films with her participation appeared on the screens in the era of silent cinema. In 1928, she divorced Cameron and a year later married a second time to a certain George Peabody Converse.

Anita's career ended with the advent of sound film . Appearing in 1932 in her only sound film "Hollywood Handicap", the actress has ceased to be removed. She died of a heart attack on May 4, 1961 in Beverly Hills . For contribution to the development of cinema, Anita Stewart was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame .
