Korean sturgeon

Korean sturgeon [1] ( Latin Acipenser dabryanus ) [2] is a relatively small freshwater fish of the genus sturgeon . Endemic of China , lives in the Yangtze River . In the wild, it is on the verge of extinction due to the construction of hydroelectric dams, overfishing and pollution of the Yangtze and its tributaries. Diluted in captivity by Chinese scientists at a specially created fish factory, however, releases to the river of young fish grown so far have little effect (presumably due to pollution of the river by industrial stocks).
