Story

The protagonist of the game is a small ball of resin named Gish. He lacks any external organs besides the yellow sparkling eyes and fangs. Guiche's friend, Bria ( Eng. Brea ), was captured by Hero ( Eng. Hera, Gray ) - an evil piece of female resin, and dragged underground, into the depths of sewer passages. The main character goes in search of her. The plot has two endings, which are determined by the passage of the last level in the game.

Gameplay

In addition to being able to move, Guiche can change his physical condition: just be hard, hard and heavy, sticky, slippery. In the second state, it falls faster, has the ability to break solid objects, crush enemies, drown in water, withstand squeezing (the latter is also possible in the first). In the solid state, Guiche can stick to the surfaces surrounding objects. In a slippery state, it can squeeze through the bottlenecks at the levels, etc. To jump, Guiche must first compress his body, and then, at the moment of maximum compression, restore his body’s rigid shape and spring up like a spring. With each subsequent jump, the height of the jump increases.

Guiche can simultaneously be in several states, which makes it possible to overcome difficult moments. For example, when it is sticky and slippery, it can climb walls without sticking to objects other than the wall.

Soundtrack

All sounds and music were made by Tim Smolens and Jeff Attridge. The game features Estradasphere songs, including the song “Feed Your Mama's Meter” from the Buck Fever album.

  • Hera ( Eng. Hera, Gray ) - Appears in the episode "The Rapture" Attacks the same way as Guiche, but does not know how to jump. You can kill her by dropping into the lava. After that, you need to catch Briah so that she does not fall after the Hero.

Continuations

In November 2008, a sequel to the game was announced - Gish 2 , the release date is not known. The sequel was developed by the developers of the first part of the game (Alex Oksin and Edmund McMillen), who took away the rights to develop the game from Chronic Logic. The Gish 2 project was canceled at the end of 2009 , when Edmund McMillen left his own company Cryptic Sea. Also, the eponymous game for phones was created. It talks about Guiche and his children. It soon becomes known that Hera was able to survive. In the mission “Introduction” in the last dialogue, Guiche himself said that this is a sequel.

Gish became part of the Humble Indie Bundle promotion. As a result of the success of this promotion, Cryptic Sea decided to open the source code of the game, which happened on May 29, 2010 [1] . Game data files remained paid, however, in addition to a full-fledged engine with source code, simplified graphics, music, sounds and several levels are available. On June 3, Gish was ported to AmigaOS 4 [2] . A modification of the game soon appeared, in which Guiche was able to decrease and increase [3] .

History

In 1991, the Vendée U youth team led by Jean-René Bernodot was created in the Vendée department in western France . In 2000, Bernodo, with the participation of the sponsor - the Bonjour newspaper , creates the eponymous professional cycling group based on youth. The team gained fame thanks to the success of young racers, pupils of Vendée U Thomas Wöckler , Sylvain Chavanel and Fabrice Salanson , who died in 2003 from a cardiac disease [1] .

In 2005, the team signed a contract with the French telecommunications company Bouygues Télécom and obtained a license from UCI ProTour . On September 29, 2009, the International Union of Cyclists expelled the team from among the participants in ProTour.

In 2011, Europcar became the title sponsor of the team. At the end of 2013, the UCI ProTour license was again obtained for the seasons 2014 and 2015 .

The team is famous for its successful performances at bicycle races on the roads of France, its racers over the past years have dominated the national championship.

The team was assembled mainly from French riders, but in 2013 it included the first black - Eritrean Natnael Berane .

On April 11, 2019, the team changed its name to Total Direct Énergie . [2] As a result of this, the team colors also changed: from yellow and black to blue and white. The debut race under the new name was Paris - Roubaix .
