Buffy

Cordelia appears in the Buffy pilot series as one of the popular Sun cheer school cheerleader students who studied in the same class as the Buffy Summers vampire slayer. Having been attacked by vampires, Cordelia helps Buffy in the fight against them. In the series, Angel Cordelia joins Angel , a vampire with a soul , becoming a companion in a detective agency designed to stop supernatural powers and help the helpless. Later, she gains the ability to see those who need help. In season four, Angela becomes obsessed with the deity Jasmine, due to which Cordelia soon dies. The character also appears in the 8th season of the comic strip Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel: After the Fall.

Cordelia Chase appeared in Buffy’s first episode, Welcome to the Hell's Maw. Presented as a potential friend of Buffy 's new student Ann Summers , Cordelia shows her true face, taunting Willow , with whom Buffy made friends [1] . Unaware of the existence of supernatural powers, Cordelia regularly taunts and insults Buffy and other characters during the first season. She played a large role in the episode “Out of sight, out of mind”, in which she became a victim of an outcast who avenged popular students for insults [2] . In the season finale, Cordelia helps Buffy and her friends fight the vampires, finally resigning themselves to the existence of otherworldly forces [3] . In the second season, Cordelia becomes an active member of the Buffy team and begins a romantic relationship with Xander Harris. In the final of the third season, she, along with Buffy and her friends, opposes the demonic mayor of Sunnydale, Richard Wilkins, and kills her first vampire [4] .

Angel

After three seasons of Buffy, Cordelia switched to the Angel spin-off. In the first season, Cordelia moved to Los Angeles and, in the hope of avoiding poverty, decides to become an actress. After Angel saved her life, she began to work in his detective agency as an administrator. [5] She approaches half-demon Doyle, but their promising romance ended in his death in one of the series of the season. Before his death, in the episode "The Hero," [6] he transmitted his ability to see people in need through a kiss from Cordelia. [7]

The visions sent by the Higher Powers make Cordy a constant participant in all the investigations of Angel and Wesley. At first, the girl can not understand the motives for which Doyle gave her his gift, but later Cordy realizes that he sought to convey to her the most valuable thing in his life. The touch of the demon Voki reveals Cordy’s mind at the same time for all the terrifying visions of the future, at the risk of driving her crazy, but her friends do not leave Cordelia in difficult times. Having regained consciousness, she comprehends everything she saw and understands how many more people are left who need their help.

While the Angel begins her war against Wolfram and Hart , the dismissed along with the rest of the Cordelia staff decides to continue the work of the agency, as the Higher Forces still send her visions intended for the Angel. The joint work strengthens her friendship with Wesley and Gann even more, but the moment comes when the Angel realizes his mistake and returns to friends. Cordelia did not immediately forgive him, feeling insulted by a recent insult. Nevertheless, a trip to the demonic world of Pailia reconciles close friends again, and also gives Cordelia the opportunity to at least for a while feel like a real queen. When she is given the opportunity to get rid of her visions, handing them to the courageous and brave Grussalug, Cordelia understands how much she has changed lately. Visions became part of herself and gave the girl a life of meaning, so Cordy is not ready to abandon them. She still wants to use her gift with benefit, in spite of the pain that he brings, which only begins to intensify over time.

During the confrontation between Angel and Wolfram and Hart, Cordelia realizes that he is ready to sacrifice everything to save her life. When her visions become unbearably painful for the average person, Cordy is again given the opportunity to get rid of them, starting a completely new life at will. But the life of the popular and prosperous actress is no longer needed by the girl, so she insists on the return of visions. Upon learning that visions are not intended to be accepted by ordinary people, Cordelia agrees to add a particle of a demon to her body in order to comply with all the rules. This gives her the opportunity to receive visions without visible side effects, even without a headache, but now Cordy is preoccupied with the question of what other hidden opportunities she acquired. Helping Angel recover from the tragic loss of her son, Cordelia gradually begins to realize that despite her attachment to Grussalug, she actually loves Angel. Nevertheless, she does not have time to tell him about this, since the Higher Forces offer the girl to rise to a new stage of human development and become the Supreme Being. While the Angel becomes the object of vengeance for her newfound son, Cordelia ascends to heaven, not knowing what lies ahead.

A few months later, Cordelia returns from another dimension, but her appearance becomes the beginning of ominous omens, ending with the appearance of a cruel demonic Beast. Only later did the Angel and his friends realize that a powerful entity had captured the body of Cordelia and used it for her birth on Earth. While the beautiful Jasmine continues to spread good and love throughout the world, Cordelia is in a coma caused by the birth of this god-like woman. After Angel accepts the proposal to head the Wolfram and Hart branch in Los Angeles, Cordy is placed in the hospital, where she is provided with full care and her health is monitored.

The Higher Powers awaken Cordelia with yet another vision, designed to warn the Angel of imminent danger and help him once again embark on the true path of the champion. During his stay in Tungsten and Hart, Cordy quickly understands the situation, helps Wesley recognize the mysterious symbols from his vision, and also follow the trail of their owner. But when the threat to Angel's life is over, Cordelia is forced to leave him again, as she is still closely connected with the Higher Forces, which demand her return. Her farewell kiss helps the vampire see what was previously hidden from him, and for the rest of the world, Cordelia Chase dies without waking up from her sleep.
