Biography

1959 - graduated from the Kalinin Institute of Foreign Languages.

After that, he worked as a teacher in a factory evening school in Kostroma. He devoted all his free time to studying the history of the artistic culture of Kostroma.

In 1964 he entered the correspondence department of the Faculty of Theory and History of Art of the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I.E. Repin, after which he entered the graduate school of the Institute of Art History of the USSR Ministry of Culture.

The theme of the Ph.D. thesis: "Kostroma stone architecture of the XVII century. Its features and development paths . " After successful defense, the author continued to work fruitfully in this area, expanding the range of aspects of his topic.

Since 1970 he worked as a senior researcher at the Kostroma Special Scientific and Restoration Production Workshop, where he was engaged not only in architecture, but also in Old Russian painting - monumental and easel .

E. V. Kudryashov devoted much time and energy to systematic work in the regional and central archives. In his archival heritage, information about 318 monuments of architecture of Kostroma has been preserved. He collected materials for the biography of Kostroma architects, whose work is clearly expressed in the buildings of the city center of the XVIII-XIX centuries. The researcher was especially attentive to the little studied work of the Kostroma architect of the XVIII century S. A. Vorotilov .

During numerous hiking expeditions, E. V. Kudryashov examined architectural monuments of almost the entire Kostroma region , as well as some located in neighboring Yaroslavl . For each identified monument, scientists compiled a scientific passport containing a real historical study.

At the same time, E.V. Kudryashov conceived and, on his own initiative, began a great job: architectural and historical research of Kostroma streets in the ancient, historical part of the building. He managed to complete most of it by collecting and studying materials on the history of more than ten streets of the city center.

Evgeny Vasilievich Kudryashov suddenly died at his desk on March 12, 1985.
