Turlyan

Turlyan (from French tour lent - slow turn) is an element in rhythmic gymnastics . And in classical dance, from where, in fact, this movement was taken to gymnastics.

Technique

Turlyan is a slow rotation around himself on one leg without touching the floor with the other leg. It is one of the most difficult elements of rhythmic gymnastics , the quality of which largely depends on the complex manifestation of the strength of the supporting leg, eversion of the joints of the legs, and the balance function.

The gymnast stands on a supporting leg (at half-fingers), the other raises up (to the side, back). Then it slowly rotates on the supporting leg, without lowering the supporting foot onto the heel.

There are many varieties of turlans - in the front equilibrium, in the back, in the lateral twine, in the vertical, etc.

In the classical dance tour lent, en dehors and en dedans are performed. That is, "out" and "in." En dehors - rotational movements heading "out". That is a turn "from the foot." If the supporting leg is left and you turn right, the turn will be en dehors. Turn en dedans - turn “inward” if you are standing on your left foot and turning left. The rotation can be full (360) or 90, 180 degrees. Classes of tour lent in classical dance begin when en tournant is well mastered. Start teaching tour lent with a 45-degree elevation, then 90 degrees, etc. First, turn by 1/8, that is, to each point in the hall (from 1 to 8), then to points 3,5,7.
