Biography
Alexander Gromov studied at the Drawing School of the Society for the Encouragement of Arts and the Academy of Arts (he graduated with two Silver Medals), additionally studied at St. Petersburg University . He served in the army, on the fronts of the First World War . Participant of exhibitions in Russia and abroad, an exhibitor of the Society of watercolorists , associations: World of Art , Community of Artists , Zhar-Tsvet , New Society of Artists . Since 1934, a member of the graphics section LOSSH Union of Artists of the USSR .
In the second half of the 1940s, after the liberation of Pavlovsk , Gromov was engaged in the restoration of the architectural ensemble of Pavlovsk . Participated in pictorial restoration work in Veliky Novgorod . He performed many works for the State Porcelain Factory named after M.V. Lomonosov . Some of them were awarded an honorary diploma at the Milan exhibition. He taught at the School of Folk Art and at the Roerich School. He worked as an employee of the Department of Arts and Monuments.
