Distribution
Iran (Fars province, Mian-Jangle, Fasa, 22 ° 12'N, 53 ° 23'E, 1680 m) [1] .
Description
Body length about 2 mm. The head of the females is yellow, with a brown stripe in the upper-back part behind the ocelium. The eyes are purple. Scapus and 1–3 segments of antennae flagellum yellow, 4–6 segments white, brown mace. Pronotum, mesopleuron yellow. Males have black heads, mesoscutum and scutellum. Bred from Sphaerolecanium prunastri mockworms ( Hemiptera : Coccidae ) found on Prunus scoparia (genus Plum ) on July 2, 2007. The new species Microterys iranicus is closest to the species Microterys darevskii Trjapitzin , 1968 [1] .
