Description
Body length 4.5-8 mm. Antennae 12-segmented. Clypeus with a row of 12 small cloves. [2] Nest in the soil, under the rocks, the number of families is usually tens and hundreds of individuals, rarely up to several thousand (Haskins & Haskins 1951). [3]
Genetics
Diploid set of chromosomes 2n = 48. [4]
Distribution
Australia , New Caledonia , Solomon Islands; introduced to the North Island of New Zealand.
